Aaron Boone: 'Good chance' Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge return soon

The New York Yankees have lost seven of their last 10 games, and while it seems like their playoff hopes are dwindling, they may be able to breathe a sigh of relief in the coming days and weeks.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said there's a "good chance" that Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton could return to the lineup by next weekend, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

The duo may take some at-bats at the Yankees' alternate training site in Scranton this weekend while the rest of the team competes in a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Judge has been dealing with a calf injury and has only appeared in 18 games this season. He was excellent in those games, though, slashing .292/.343/.738 with nine home runs and 20 RBIs.

Stanton, on the other hand, is suffering from a hamstring injury and has been limited to just 14 games. When healthy, the 30-year-old has been pretty productive for New York with three home runs and seven RBIs.

While the batting order could get a boost, the rotation may continue to struggle. Boone also revealed that it'll be tough for James Paxton to return this season after suffering a setback in his recovery from a Grade 1 flexor strain in his left arm.

The Yankees enter the weekend just barely holding on to a playoff spot with a 22-21 record in the AL East.
