Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez resume Mets ownership bid

Former New York Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez and pop music superstar Jennifer Lopez have reportedly resumed their bid to buy the New York Mets.

On Monday, Darren Rovell of the Action Network tweeted that the super couple has linked with billionaire entrepreneur and businessman Mike Repole to purchase the Amazins.

Repole is already a competitive thoroughbred owner.

A-Rod and J-Lo have reportedly been interested in purchasing the Mets since February , but talks stalled when majority owner Fred Wilpon allegedly didn't want to include television network SNY in the deal. Katherine Acquavella of CBS Sports has indicated that may no longer be an issue.

While Rodriguez is most known for his time with the Yankees and being suspended for PED use, he grew up a fan of the Mets, per the New York Post. Former teammate Derek Jeter, who has had a rocky relationship with A-Rod over the years, is currently the Miami Marlins Chief Executive Officer. Jeter also owns a small stake in the Marlins.
