Angels' Mike Trout puts on power display in Seattle, slamming five HR in series

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim entered a five-game series with the Seattle Mariners struggling. Losers of 18 of 20 games, the Angels needed a spark, and they got one from three-time MVP Mike Trout.

During the five-game series against the Mariners, Trout tallied a remarkable five home runs, helping lead the Angels to a 4-1 series win.

In Game 1 of the series, Trout smashed two home runs, knocking in all four Angels' runs in a 4-1 victory.

Trout didn't homer in Game 2 of the series on Friday but did knock in the Angles' lone run in an 8-1 defeat.

Saturday saw the Angels take on the Mariners in a doubleheader. Trout kicked off the twin-billing with a two-run home run to help the Angels win Game 1 in 10 innings, 4-2.

Trout stayed hot in the second game of the double-header, tallying yet another home run in a 3-0 Angels' win.

In Sunday's series finale, Trout smacked another two-run home run, leading to another Angels' victory, 4-0.

According to Stats by STATS, Trout became the first player in MLB history to hit four game-winning home runs in a single series.

Powered by Trout, the Angels have won four of their last five games and sit in second place in the AL West, 9.5 games behind the first-place Houston Astros.

It's big for us," Trout told MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger on Sunday. "Obviously, to be able to do that after that skid we had, it's good. Hopefully it'll carry over."
