A's pitcher Jesus Luzardo broke pinkie on desk while playing video game
The Oakland Athletics placed lefthander Jesus Luzardo on the injured list with a fracture in his left hand, the team announced Sunday:
A's manager Bob Melvin said Luzardo has a hairline fracture in his pinkie finger, according to Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle. Luzardo suffered the injury while playing a video game and bumped his hand on a desk.
Luzardo ended up pitching on Saturday, and an X-ray after the game revealed the fracture. He gave up six runs over three innings against the Baltimore Orioles.
The 23-year-old is 1-3 on the season with a 5.79 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 28 innings.
