At least one Marlins player tests positive for COVID-19

The Miami Marlins may be the first team in Major League Baseball to have a coronavirus outbreak, though it's unconfirmed.

According to SportsGrid's Craig Mish, at least one Marlins player has tested positive for the coronavirus. He reported earlier Sunday morning that pitcher Jose Urena has been scratched from an afternoon matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies, indicating that he could be the player who tested positive.

Mish also reported that he received a test regarding "multiple" Marlins players, though the source didn't specify if it was related to the coronavirus.

Jon Heyman of the MLB Network confirms it was Urena who tested positive for COVID-19.

If the Marlins do have an outbreak of the coronavirus, it could threaten their 2020 campaign. Their season could come to an end if the outbreak is that large, though it remains to be seen.

In Major League Soccer, teams with large COVID-19 outbreaks had to withdraw from the return-to-play tournament because of infection risks to other teams. If the Marlins have to withdraw, it'll be difficult for the league to reschedule games for their opponents.

Urena, 28, went 4-10 last season with a 5.21 ERA and 62 strikeouts. Robert Dugger is expected to replace Urena in Sunday's lineup.
