After an impressive showing at the plate during spring training, 24-year-old Blaze Alexander has officially earned a spot on the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Opening Day roster.

The complete Opening Day roster can be viewed below:

In order to accommodate Alexander, the D-backs designated 3rd baseman Emmanuel Rivera for assignment. Rivera appeared in 86 games with Arizona last season, boasting a .261 batting average.

Furthermore, the D-backs have placed several players on the injured list. Outfielder Randal Grichuk is undergoing recovery from ankle surgery, while Eduardo Rodriguez and Paul Sewald have been placed on the 15-day IL.

The Diamondbacks’ 2024 campaign will commence tonight against the Colorado Rockies at 7:10 PM, with Zac Gallen slated to take the mound.
