Braves extend manager Brian Snitker through 2023 season

Brian Snitker will continue to manage the Atlanta Braves through at least 2023.

The Braves announced Friday that Snitker has been signed to a contract extension with a club option for 2024.

Snitker was named interim manager of the Braves in 2016 and was given the full-time job ahead of the 2017 campaign. He's had various roles in the organization since joining the club in 1977.

He's 353-317 as manager of the Braves and has led the franchise to the postseason in each of his last three seasons. Atlanta made it to the NLCS in 2020, but lost in seven games to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who went on to win the World Series.
