Brewers sign former Giants reliever Jake McGee

Just over a week after being released, left-handed reliever Jake McGee has found a new home.

According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, McGee has signed a major-league deal with the Milwaukee Brewers

Joe Sherman of the New York Post added that McGee's deal is for the pro-rated major league minimum.

McGee struggled in 24 appearances for the Giants this season. Over 21.1 innings, McGee posted a 1-2 record with a 7.17 ERA and three saves.

The Giants released the 35-year-old on July 14.

The Brewers hope a change of scenery may get McGee back to pitching the way he was a season ago. In 2021, McGee finished the season 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 31 saves in 62 appearances for the Giants.

A 13-year veteran, McGee has played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Giants.

Over 632 major league games, McGee has a 32-37 record with a 3.64 ERA and 79 saves.
