Legendary SF Giants catcher Buster Posey filled in for Jimmy Rollins with the MLB on TBS crew on Tuesday night, giving fans an unexpected opportunity to hear the former face of the franchise talk baseball. Posey joined Curtis Granderson, Pedro Martinez, and Lauren Shehadi to recap the evening's slate of games and talked about adjusting to retirement.

When asked about what he misses most, Posey talked about the moments with teammates before and after games. "Just being in the clubhouse talking strategy before the game," Posey said. "Checking in with guys after games, whether it's pitchers or hitters and just following up with them. That's how I think we get better, right? Having conversations."

Posey would get another shoutout on a different former Ted Turner network creation later that night. TBS, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, shares a studio in Atlanta, Georgia with several other prominent stations, including TNT. TNT, which owns the rights to postseason NBA basketball, was also hosting the Inside the NBA crew for pregame and postgame shows on Tuesday. The well-known program features host Ernie Johnson alongside a trio of former NBA players (Kenny Smith, Shaquille O'Neal, and Charles Barkley).

During the broadcast on Tuesday night, Johnson brought up getting to cross paths with legends from other sports, which prompted Hall of Fame NBA player and immensely popular television personality Charles Barkley to talk about meeting Posey. It turns out Buster had made an impression with Sir Charles.

"I was so excited to meet Buster Posey," Barkley said. "I've been wanting to meet Buster Posey for a long time."

Two sporting legends from the south, Barkley and Posey were born less than a four drive from one another in Leeds, Alabama and Leesburg, Georgia, respectively. Barkley is perhaps most remembered as one of the greatest players to never win a championship in NBA history. Perhaps his own experience at the top of his sport gives him an added appreciation for Posey's three World Series titles.
