Following a massive week at the plate, Diamondbacks’ rookie OF Corbin Carroll has taken a notable lead in the early Rookie of the Year odds.

As of June 9th, Corbin Carroll stands at -140 in the betting odds; second is Reds prospect Elly De La Cruz at +300. Cruz, however, has only played in 4 major league games.

Over the past two weeks, Carroll has a .373 batting average, racking up 19 hits, six home runs, and 15 RBIs in just 13 games.

This surge has brought his season batting average to .307, boosting him to the top in just about every rookie batting category. Not to mention, his 18 stolen bases rank sixth in the majors.

Corbin Carroll has led his Diamondbacks to 13 games over .500 as they hold a 2-game lead over the Dodgers for first place in the National League West.

Against the Tigers on Friday, Carroll went 3-5, including a grand slam, a solo shot, and a double. He ended the afternoon with 5 RBIs, playing a large part in the D-backs 11-6 win over Detroit.

And the good news for the Diamondbacks is that they have their star rookie locked up for eight years, as they signed him to a massive contract just before the start of the 2023 season.

Keeping star players around has been a difficult challenge for the D-backs in the past; it just now seems like the tide is turning in Arizona after years of struggling.
