MLB Pipeline has released its annual preseason Dodgers Top-30 prospect list. Los Angeles' 2022 second-round draft pick, catcher/first baseman Dalton Rushing, is number one on the list.

The new prospect list was released Wednesday morning, and Rushing was once again at the top. He finished the 2023 season as LA's number-one prospect.

Following Rushing is right-handed pitcher Nick Frasso, outfielder Andy Pages, outfielder Josue De Paula, and right-handed pitcher Ryan River to round out the top five.

Rushing is the number-75 overall prospect in the league, according to MLB.com

The 23-year-old is coming off a solid season with the Great Lakes Loons, the Dodgers' advanced Class-A team. In 2023, Rushing slashed .228/.404/.452 with an .856 OPS, to go with 55 runs, 66 hits, 15 home runs and 53 RBIs.

He possesses well-above-raw power at the plate and quick and compact hands. Rushing stands at 6-foot-1, weighs 220 pounds, and can flash close to average speed around the bases.

Although he's listed as a catcher, he's a bit inexperienced behind the plate. Rushing needs to improve his blocking and receiving skills, but he has time. With Will Smith holding things down at the moment — and ostensibly for another year, until he's eligible for free agency after the 2025 season — there's no need to rush.

Rushing will only get better for the Dodgers. Start getting used to hearing his name.
