The Padres made four key roster moves ahead of their win against the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday.

Catcher Luis Campusano, who suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb in April, was activated off of the 60-day-IL. Campusano was expected to be the Padres' starting catcher and share time with Gary Sanchez.

As a result, catcher Austin Nola was optioned to El Paso after batting just .146 in the 2023 season. Brandon Dixon was also sent down to Triple-A.

Some fans celebrated the decision to demote Nola.

Outfielder Taylor Kohlwey and infielder Alfonso Rivas were brought up from Triple-A El Paso. Kohlwey was hitting .261 and had 9 home runs and could make his Major League debut. Rivas has seen time in July, going 2-for-7 with a .804 OPS.

Several fans thought that there were other Triple-A candidates worthy of a promotion before Kohlewey, like veteran Ben Gamel.

Infielder Rougned Odor was designated for assignment after hitting .210 and 4 home runs. Some fans were sad to see the 10-year pro leave.

Finally, pitcher Reiss Knehr was placed on the 60-day injured list because of an injury to his elbow, with which he is sidelined indefinitely.

It was a busy day for the Padres — which always means a busy day for Padres Twitter.
