The Los Angeles Angels have suffered some injuries as of late, which resulted in the trade for infielder Eduardo Escobar and some unexpected call-ups from the minor league system.

The Halos currently have a combination of some veteran guys and young guys who have contributed in a huge way. Still, injuries are inevitable, and because of that, the Angels signed former All-Star Daniel Murphy two weeks ago.

Murphy hadn't played baseball since the 2020 season with the Colorado Rockies, but you wouldn't be able to tell by his latest game.

Murphy is three years removed from the game, and he's making it look easy in the minor leagues. Through four games with the Angels Triple-A team, he is slashing .250/.333/.313 with a .646 OPS. Those numbers aren't impressive, but he might've found something in his Friday outing.

The 38-year-old was once a three-time All-Star, two-time silver slugger, and the 2015 NLCS MVP as a member of the New York Mets. If he can become a fraction of that in the minors, he could play a role with the Halos if worse comes to worst.

Hopefully, we never get to that this season, but you never know, especially with the bad luck the Angels seem to have on that front. It's great to see Murphy do well, we'll see how he progresses.
