Shane Loux is rejoining the Los Angeles Angels organization this season as a minor league coach.

Loux spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons with the Angels and returns as the pitching coach for the Triple-A affiliate Salt Lake Bees.

Loux was most recently with the Arizona Diamondbacks as the pitching coach for Double-A Amarillo.

He spent 18 years in affiliated ball, which included 58 major league appearances with the Angels, San Francisco Giants, and Detroit Tigers. He made 13 starts, had two Tommy John surgeries, and won a World Series ring with the San Francisco Giants in 2012.

Loux began his coaching career in 2017 and spent two seasons with the D-backs' Advanced Rookie affiliate in Missoula.

In 2019, he was promoted to the organization's Advanced Class A Visalia and after the minor leagues reclassified, he returned to Single-A Hillsboro. He was promoted to Double-A for the 2022 season.

The Salt Lake team is getting a new-look coaching staff under Keith Johnson. In addition to Loux, the new additions include assistant pitching coach Andy Hawkins, hitting coach Alonzo Powell, strength and conditioning coach Jimmy Sanchez, and game planning strategist Gabriel Kaufman.

Johnson is returning along with coach Jack Santora, trainer Jonathan Fierro, and video assistant Brooklyn Tanner.
