Adam Cimber has found a job for the 2024 season.

According to Jeff Passan, the Los Angeles Angels signed the side-arm-throwing righty to a one-year contract worth $1.65 million.

The Blue Jays acquired Cimber in June of 2021 to help shore up what had been a disastrous bullpen to start that season. He was a rock for the Blue Jays the rest of the way, posting a 1.69 ERA over 37 1/3 innings pitching largely in high-leverage spots.

The following season, Cimber was again a key part of Toronto’s bullpen, as he put up a 2.80 ERA over 70 2/3 innings. He made 77 appearances in 2022, tied for the most in Major League Baseball with closer Emmanuel Clase of the Cleveland Guardians.

The 2023 was an injury-riddled mess for Cimber. He had a couple of rough outings in the latter part of April and spent a month on the Injured List. He was activated in late May and was drilled for 12 earned runs over 11 appearances before going back on the IL with a shoulder impingement.

Cimber was later transferred to the 60-day IL to open a spot on Toronto’s 40-man roster and he never returned to the active roster. A few weeks ago, the Blue Jays opted not to tender Cimber, making him a free agent for the first time in his career. He was projected to earn $3.2 million in arbitration by MLB Trade Rumours.
