Dodgers free agent outfielder Jake Marisnick has signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Angels for next season. He will be given a chance to make the big league team, and will possibly partake in the team's Spring Training to show what he can do.
He spent last season with three teams: the Chicago White Sox, the Detroit Tigers and the Dodgers. Shortly after his time in Detroit, Marisnick landed with the Dodgers, but his time on the L.A. roster was short-lived.
The veteran outfielder appeared in just four games due to injury, but was effective while active. He went 2-5 from the plate, hitting a solid .400. He then hurt his oblique, and missed the rest of the season.
Now Marisnick lands with the Angels, and will provide them with some veteran experience and depth in the outfield if he can make the team.
Dodgers fans were hesitant to accept Marisnick upon first signing since he was a member of the 2017 Houston Astros team. He didn't play in the postseason for them, but being on the roster affiliates him with the cheating scandal
L.A. fans didn't get a chance to see what he could provide for them due to his injury, so it wasn't meant to be. Now he's joining the other Los Angeles team, hoping to make an impact there.
