Giants sign former All-Star reliever Trevor Rosenthal to one-year, $4.5M deal

The San Francisco Giants have reportedly added some veteran help to their bullpen.

According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, the Giants have agreed to a one-year, $4.5M contract with reliever Trevor Rosenthal

Rosenthal hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2020. In 23 combined games with the Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres, Rosenthal posted a 1-0 record with a 1.90 ERA and 11 saves.

The 32-year-old missed all of 2021 with injury. After signing with the Oakland Athletics, Rosenthal began the 2021 campaign on the IL before having surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome. While recovering from surgery, Rosenthal suffered a torn hip labrum in July, which ended his season.

Rosenthal, an eight-year veteran, has played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers, Royals, and Padres. In 373 career games, Rosenthal has a 12-25 record with a 3.36 ERA and 132 saves.
