The Cleveland Guardians picked up right-hander Darren McCaughan from the Miami Marlins on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations and optioned him to Triple-A Columbus.

McCaughan made one appearance for the Marlins, eating 4 2/3 innings of a 20-4 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. He was shelled for eight runs on nine hits (including three home runs) and three walks, striking out two.
