In case you missed it yesterday, the Braves designated Guillermo Heredia for assignment to make room on their 40-man roster. There’s still a chance he could end up signing a minor-league contract with the organization; however, if his latest Instagram post is any indication, it doesn’t appear that there is anything in the works.

Guillermo Heredia will have a special place in the hearts of Braves Country forever. On the field, he didn’t provide much other than a defensive replacement late in games. But in the clubhouse, he was the heart and soul of the Atlanta Braves. It was impossible for players to go into big games feeling tight with Heredia and his antics constantly lightening the mood. There’s a reason the Braves kept him around for so long. I’m not totally counting out a return, but until next time, Thank you Mr. Heredia.
