Indians' Zach Plesac addresses violation of MLB coronavirus-related protocols

On Tuesday, Cleveland Indians pitcher Zach Plesac addressed his violation of MLB health and safety protocols in Chicago over the weekend that resulted in the Tribe forcing him to take a car service from the Windy City back to Northeast Ohio.

The 25-year-old referenced the subject via Instagram.

Plesac and fellow starter Mike Clevinger reportedly went out with friends following a Saturday road game versus the Chicago White Sox. Cleveland placed both on the restricted list on Tuesday.

According to The Athletic’s Zack Meisel, it's unknown if the club will fine or otherwise punish the players.

Coronavirus outbreaks within the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals led some to wonder if those clubs could be excluded from the 2020 campaign. St. Louis hasn't played since July 29 and will remain idle through at least Thursday evening.
