One of the bigger storylines from the 2023 season for the Dodgers was the situation involving left-hander pitcher Julio Urias. Urias was arrested in early September following an LAFC match in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic battery.

He was released on bail the following morning, but never suited up for the Dodgers the rest of the season. In fact, the team has worked to distance themselves from Urias since the incident.

L.A. removed murals of him around Dodger Stadium, and they took down all memorabilia that showed his name. They also removed his locker in the clubhouse, as well.

He is currently a free agent, but he won't be returning to the Dodgers in 2024.

Shortly after he was released on bail, video evidence of Urias made its way to local law enforcement. This led them to open their own investigation into the situation.

Earlier in December, the law enforcement agencies concluded their investigation of Urias and turned the case over to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. They will now be determining whether or not any criminal charges are made against the pitcher.

In addition, Urias was placed on paid administrative leave while the league conducted an investigation into the matter. Urias is expected to receive a large suspension from Major League Baseball.

The rise and fall of Urias has been an impactful one. He helped the team win the World Series in 2020 and has been a staple in the starting rotation for years.

Dodgers insider Doug McKain of dodgersnation.com detailed the career of Urias, from his start at the age of 16 to where his situation currently stands.
