The San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres on Monday night at Oracle Park 2-1.

While Blake Snell's performance for the Padres could help him cement the Cy Young award in the National League, Giants' pitcher Logan Webb also delivered a great effort and got the win.

The right-hander went all 9.0 innings, giving up just one run on nine hits. He walked none and struck out seven. He's now 11-13 on the year and owns a 3.25 ERA.

He's also on track to make some unique baseball history this season.

Per @OptaSTATS on social media:

Logan Webb of the @SFGiants had never thrown a complete game in the majors before this year. He threw his second tonight and now leads MLB with 216.0 IP.

No pitcher has ever led MLB in innings pitched after entering that season with 0 career complete games (excluding rookies).

Webb leads Zac Gallen (203.2) and Gerrit Cole (200.0) in the battle for the most innings pitched this season.

The 26-year-old is the ace of the Giants' staff, pitching in his fifth year in the big leagues. He's 42-32 in his career with a 3.40 ERA. He's now won double-digit games in each of the last three seasons.

The Giants are now 78-79 this season and will take on the Padres again on Tuesday night.

First pitch is set for 9:45 p.m. ET as Padres' righty Seth Lugo talks against the Giants' rookie Kyle Harrison.

Lugo is 7-7 with a 3.79 ERA this season while Harrison is 1-1 with a 4.85 since his call-up.
