Marlins trade outfielder Adam Duvall to Braves for catcher Alex Jackson

The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Adam Duvall in exchange for catcher Alex Jackson, the team announced Friday.

This will mark Duvall's second stint with the Braves, who also traded for him at the deadline in 2018.

Duvall hit 16 home runs in 57 games as a member of the Braves in 2020 before signing a one-year, $5 million deal with the Marlins this offseason. The 32-year-old has been one of Miami's best batters this year, hitting .229/.277/.478 with 22 home runs and 68 RBI.

Atlanta's decision to re-acquire Duvall comes after it acquired outfielder Eddie Rosario from the Cleveland Indians. The team is loading up on outfielders following Ronald Acuna Jr.'s season-ending injury.

Jackson, meanwhile, has not established himself at the major-league level. The Seattle Mariners selected him sixth overall in 2014, and he has appeared in just 19 big-league games.

This season with Triple-A, he's hitting 287/.366/.694 with 11 home runs in 30 games.
