The New York Mets have added some bullpen help.

On Monday, the Mets acquired right-handed reliever Yohan Ramirez from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash, as the team announced.

Ramirez, 28, has spent four seasons in the big-leagues and has played for the Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Guardians and White Sox. He has produced a 3.99 ERA for his career in 102 games.

Last season, the righty posted a 4.23 ERA in 38.1 innings across 31 appearances for the Pirates and White Sox.

The Mets have a barren bullpen, as the only major league relievers returning from last season are closer Edwin Diaz, Brooks Raley and Drew Smith. Diaz, of course, missed all of the 2023 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn patellar tendon in his knee, which was suffered in the World Baseball Classic in March.

This offseason, president of baseball operations David Stearns has added several relievers such as Jorge Lopez, Austin Adams and Michael Tonkin.

The Mets' bullpen still needs work before spring training. The team could go after All-Star reliever Josh Hader, who would form a devastating 1-2 punch with Diaz, but he will be pricey. Word is that Hader is looking to eclipse Diaz's $102 million contract.
