Washington Nationals outfielder Stone Garrett was carted off the field at Yankee Stadium with an apparent left leg injury. Garrett attempted to make a leaping catch at the right field wall when his leg appeared to get caught in the wall on a DJ LeMahieu home run in the seventh inning.
Garrett crashed to the turf, writhing in obvious pain. Trainers immediately ran on the field to attend to him. After several moments, an air cast was placed on his lower left leg before he got carted off the field.
Tears were visible in Garrett’s eyes as the cart drove away.

As for an update on Garrett’s injury, Nationals manager Dave Martinez said the team was waiting for X-ray results from Yankee Stadium. But he will have an MRI at the hospital later, per Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports.
Garrett was seen being helped from the shower after the game by Nats director of athletic training Paul Lessard. His leg was wrapped and protected.
The early sense from the Nats is the injury is with his lower leg, not his ankle. But nothing will be confirmed until the results of the MRI and X-rays.
