The San Diego Padres announced six more cuts to their Spring Training roster on Monday. That leaves the team with 37 players left in camp.

The Padres optioned Matthew Batten and re-assigned Cal Mitchell, Jakob Marsee, Tim Locastro, Mason McCoy and Kevin Plawecki to minor league camp.

All six players were able to gain more major league experience during Cactus League action, but will now return to minor league camp.

Batten hit .125 in 24 at-bats. He recorded three hits, one RBI and one walk. He also struck out seven times. Batten had been a possibility to begin the season at third base with Manny Machado still working his way back from offseason surgery and unable to play the field.

For Marsee, he saw 21 at-bats in his first major league camp experience. He accumulated five hits, one run, three RBIs and five walks.

Mitchell recorded five hits, four RBIs, and one home run in 22 at-bats.

Locastro hit .462, though he only saw 13 at-bats. He made the most of those, with six hits, three runs and four RBIs and only getting struck out once.

McCoy was also productive, with seven hits, three runs, four RBIs on 24 at-bats. McCoy also struck out eight times.

Plawecki, a catcher, saw the least action, with 11 at-bats, one hit and one run.

Marsee will return to the big stage Friday for the Padres' inaugural Spring Breakout game. The team's No. 12 overall prospect per MLB.com, Marsee is among the team's four outfielders in the game against the Seattle Mariners.
