Padres' Tommy Pham settles strip club lawsuit

San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is still recovering from being stabbed in the parking lot of a strip club last October. He sued the San Diego strip club for security negligence and recently revealed a significant update in his case.

Pham told Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports that he reached a substantial out-of-court settlement in his case against the nightclub.

"I beat them," Pham said. "They ended up choosing to settle with me for the max. They got crushed. All of the evidence was there, they had to ante up."

Pham proved that he was an innocent bystander, didn't have any alcohol in his system and wasn't an aggressor.

The stabbing injury caused him to struggle early on this season, and his difficulty might result in lost wages once he hits free agency. Pham also hasn't regained his strength, telling USA Today that he still squats 100 pounds less than he did when he was fully healthy.

The 33-year-old is slashing .250/.374/.397 with seven home runs and 24 RBI in 75 games. If his numbers don't improve, he could have a tough time in free agency this winter.
