2023

Hampton debuted professionally with the Yankees’ High-A team, the Hudson Valley Renegades. He started in nine games and threw 47 innings with a 3.45 ERA. Hampton finished his time with Hudson Valley by allowing only 14 earned runs, 16 walks, 1.000 WHIP, 5.9 H9, 3.1 BB9, and 14.7 SO9. The Yankees’ front office noticed Hampton’s talent and promoted him to the AA Somerset Patriots midway through the season. Hampton started in 11 games and finished the season with a 2-2 record. He tossed 59.2 innings with the Patriots while carrying a 4.37 ERA, allowing 29 runs, striking out 68, and walking 21. Hampton carried a 1.257 WHIP, an 8.1 H9, a 3.2 BB9, and a 10.3 SO9.

Future

ITD ranks Chase Hampton as the Yankees’ number-six prospect. He will likely start the season with the Somerset Patriots but could be promoted to the AAA Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders before the end of the season.
