Edwin Arroyo was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, on August 25th 2003. He attended Arecibo Baseball Academy in Puerto Rico, where he was ranked the top shortstop and top overall prospect before leaving to play in Florida at Central Pointe Christian Academy in Kissimmee, FL. his senior season. He was the sixth-ranked shortstop and the 34th overall prospect overall nationally.

Arroyo started with the Mariners rookie league team and in 21 games he slashed .211/.337/.324 with a .661 OPS; he had two doubles, two home runs, ten RBI, 16 runs scored, four stolen bases, and ten walks. He also played in the Puerto Rican Winter League for RA12, he played in 22 games and slashed .250/.333/.304 with a .637 OPS; he had three doubles, two RBI, six runs scored, one stolen base, and six walks.
2022
Arroyo started at Single-A Modesto before he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds and with the Reds he played for their rookie league team and Single-A Daytona. He played in 116 games and slashed .293/.366/.480 with a .845 OPS; he had 25 doubles, ten triples, 14 home runs, 84 RBI, 93 runs scored, 27 stolen bases, and 46 walks. He played in the Puerto Rican Winter League again this time playing for Mayaguez and in 20 games he slashed .148/.378/.148 with a .527 OPS; he had two RBI, five runs scored, and nine walks.

He played for High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga, he appeared in 123 games and slashed .252/.324/.433 with a .757 OPS; he had 28 doubles, 11 triples, 13 home runs, 60 RBI, 74 runs scored, 29 stolen bases, and 49 walks.

Arroyo is ranked the 65th overall prospect by ITD and the Reds third overall prospect. Arroyo is a switch-hitting shortstop. Arroyo is expected to start the season off a Double-A and very likely could spend most of his year there before getting a call-up to Triple AAA by the end of the year.
