Caminero was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays before the 2022 season, and he spent the season with the Rays rookie ball team and Single-A Charleston, playing in 63 games and he slashed .314/.384/.498 with a .882 OPS; he had seven doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 51 RBI, 37 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and 23 walks. In the Winter, he played for Perth in the Australian Baseball League. In 39 games, he slashed .303/.368/.613 with a .981 OPS; he had four doubles, one triple, 14 home runs, 37 RBI, 33 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 15 walks.

2023

Caminero played for High-A Bowling Green and Double-A Montgomery, playing in 117 games, and he slashed .324/.384/.591 with a .976 OPS; he had 18 doubles, six triples, 31 home runs, 94 RBI, 85 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 42 walks. He also made his debut for the Rays, playing in seven games, and he slashed .235/.278/.353 with a .631 OPS; he had one double, one home run, seven RBI, four runs scored, and two walks. This past Winter, he played in the Dominican Winter League for Escogido, and in 21 games, he slashed .333/.362/.575 with a .936 OPS; he had six doubles, five home runs, 15 RBI, ten runs scored, two stolen bases, and four walks. He also played in the Futures Game, going 0-1 with a strikeout.

Future

ITD ranks Caminero as the seventh overall prospect and the Rays top ranked prospect. He is expected to start the season at Triple-A Durham Bulls or in the MLB with Tampa Bay.
