This continues my series where I attempt to predict the stats of each Braves player, moving on to Spencer Strider, one of my favorite players on the team. If you missed any of the previous editions of this series, follow the links below.

Spencer Strider 2023 Stat Predictions

I will lead with this: if Spencer Strider stays healthy, he will win the NL Cy Young award. With Jacob deGrom now in the American League, there might not be a more talented pitcher in the NL than Strider. Sandy Alcantara is in the conversation, but Strider’s strikeout ability is second to none.

As a rookie, Strider struck out over a third of the batters he faced, becoming the fastest pitcher in MLB history to 200 strikeouts. He also became the first pitcher ever to record 200 strikeouts without giving up 100 hits. Had he begun the season in the rotation, I believe he would have given Alcantara a run for his money for the NL Cy Young last season. Now, he has a year of experience under his belt, and I expect his numbers to look absolutely ridiculous at the end of the season.

Spencer Strider’s 2023 Stat Predictions: 17-7, 2.28 ERA, 1.98 FIP, 13.0 K/9, 6.4 fWAR (Winner NL Cy Young award)
