Report: Carlos Correa, Astros avoid arbitration with one-year, $11.7M deal
Carlos Correa and the Houston Astros have reportedly avoided arbitration with a one-year, $11.7 million deal, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
Correa was in his final year of arbitration before being eligible for free agency following the 2021 season.
The 26-year-old has spent his entire six-year career with the Astros, helping the franchise capture a World Series title in 2017. He was an All-Star that year and also was named Rookie of the Year in 2015.
During the pandemic-shortened campaign, Correa slashed .264/.326/.383 with five home runs and 25 RBI. He is currently the only shortstop the Astros have on their depth chart heading into the 2021 season.
