The Los Angeles Angels hiring manager Ron Washington this offseason has been one of the more talked about parts of the offseason. Washington brings a sense of new life to the Halos for this season and players have already started taking note.

He is known for his energy at all levels of the game, something that players can relate to very easily. But Washington is also a no-discipline type of manager and someone who can bring some stability to this franchise.

Washington has heard all the outside noise about the Angels, and he is quite familiar with the fact that the team hasn't made the postseason in over a decade. But he doesn't care about any of that, in fact, all Washington wants is for others outside the organization to know that the Angels are a baseball team.

"I want them to say, 'Man, those guys play baseball!' That's it. Nothing more, nothing less."

His simple approach to the game of baseball is refreshing for many around the Angels, giving them more time to focus on the basics. He wants to turn this team into a more competitive version of itself and they certainly have the talent to be better than they have been in recent years.

The Halos still have Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon leading the way, along with multiple young members of the squad who are ready to take the next step. With the guidance of Washington, the Angels could be a potential surprise team this season.

Known for his work with infielders, Washington is looking forward to the challenge ahead. He was hired for a reason, and the front office believes he is the correct man to lead this team forward.
