The 'Multiple Cy Young Award winners' quiz

51 – the number in Seattle Mariners history so nice they’re retiring it twice . While there are already plans on the books to retire the number in honor of Ichiro Suzuki, the Mariners announced they will also be honoring legendary pitcher Randy Johnson. Johnson wore the number before Ichiro came over from Japan, winning his first of five career Cy Young awards in 1995 and leading Major League Baseball in strikeouts four times.

Johnson shared a story about when Ichiro joined the Mariners and wrote a letter to Johnson to ask to wear the number.

“I wasn’t expecting anything, but I think that’s his culture and respect for the game,” Johnson said of the letter.

“I was honored he would take the time to do that and I said ‘go for it. Wear it.’”

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Only one pitcher in Major League Baseball history has more Cy Young Awards in his career than Johnson. With that being said, how many of the MLB pitchers to win multiple Cy Youngs can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
