The Chicago Cubs are still in the midst of the rebuilding process after a disappointing finish to the 2022 season.

Chicago went 74-88 and finished in a distant third place in the National League Central division, 19 games behind the division champion and archrival St. Louis Cardinals.

But with plenty of prospects in the pipeline, the future could be bright for the Cubs.

Pete Crow-Armstrong was acquired from the New York Mets after the 2021 season and is now one of the top prospects in the Cubs system.

Crow-Armstrong is well known for his elite defense out in center field, having earned a Gold Glove at the Single-A level.

When asked about the honor, the 20-year-old spoke rather humbly, acknowledging his pride for winning the award, but also expressing his goal of winning Gold Gloves at the Major League level.

Cubs Prospect Expresses Goals

“The goal is to win those Gold Gloves at Wrigley Field,” said Crow-Armstrong.

The Cubs top prospect has set some lofty aspirations for the future.

Soon, the Cubs will have a spot for him at the Major League level.

For his minor-league career, Crow-Armstrong has a .968 fielding percentage and 206 putouts.

The 20-year-old was drafted in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft and is still a few years away, but that isn’t stopping him from setting his sights on winning Gold Gloves with the Cubs.

The future is bright for Chicago’s top outfield prospect.

Though early in his career, Crow-Armstrong has high goals for himself and has ignited hope within the Cubs organization.
