Trevor Bauer rips Scott Boras over MLB, MLBPA negotiations

As the 2020 MLB season remains indefinitely postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, both agent Scott Boras and Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Trevor Bauer continue to make their voices heard regarding negotiations between owners and the players.

Bauer and Boras seemed to be on the same page weeks ago when the pitcher called a return-to-play proposal that involved the MLB Players Association accepting a revenue split "laughable," and Boras held firm that players shouldn't cave to demands as owners attempted to "railroad" the union.

On Wednesday afternoon, however, Bauer hit out at Boras and tweeted that the agent should "rep your clients however you want to, but keep your damn personal agenda out of union business."

Reports from Tuesday on negotiations between the two parties weren't promising, as multiple insiders noted the union was "extremely disappointed" by the economic offer delivered by owners.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post added "the sides are far apart on the health/safety protocols."

On Wednesday afternoon, MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reported the MLB and MLBPA were "eons apart" regarding negotiations on the financial aspects of starting and finishing a season shortened because of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the NHL is preparing for a 24-team playoff format that could begin by the end of July.
