The Boston Red Sox signed shortstop Trevor Story to a six-year, $140 million contract in hopes of boosting their offense and making up for the loss of Kyle Schwarber.

Story’s Red Sox debut had been put on hold due to him leaving camp to be with his wife for the birth of the couple’s first child.

But now, Story is back, and he’s out taking some big swings at JetBlue Park to prepare for his upcoming debut with the team.

As a matter of fact, Red Sox insider Tyler Milliken tweeted some encouraging news for Sox fans, that Story is set to make his debut with the team tomorrow against the Atlanta Braves.

It’s Story Time

Red Sox fans are certainly excited to see their new acquisition in action for the first time, and tomorrow, they will get that chance.

Story hit .251 with 24 homers and 75 RBIs in 2021 with the Colorado Rockies.

He will wear No. 10 for the Red Sox.

This has to be exciting for Red Sox fans.

Anytime a team makes a big acquisition, fans are always waiting in anticipation to see them in action for the first time, and such is the case in Boston.

Story will be playing second base for the Sox in 2022, as Xander Bogaerts is already manning the shortstop position, but a lineup with those two in it, as well as Alex Verdugo, JD Martinez, and Rafael Devers should be one of the best lineups in all of baseball and have a chance to score a ton of runs.

The signing of Story makes Boston a major threat in the American League East division.

We’ll see how his debut goes and if he can provide the spark Boston needs.
