New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom is on his way back and has begun his rehab assignment.

For some time, the Mets have been without both deGrom and Max Scherzer.

But with Scherzer due back tonight and deGrom making progress, help is on the way for the Metropolitans.

We all know deGrom’s stuff is filthy.

But it may just be too filthy for hitters at the Single-A level.

Mets insider Jacob Resnick tweeted a video of the ace during his recent outing at Single-A.

As expected, deGrom is blowing away hitters and even reaching 101 mph on his fastball, making it not a fair competition.

On A Different Level

There should probably be another branch of the minor leagues where deGrom can go rehab and the competition should be more fair.

These Single-A hitters stand no chance against a guy of his caliber.

Recall last season when deGrom was on a rehab assignment and pitching against the Palm Beach Cardinals, the Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

He made those hitters look foolish at the plate and the Cards Single-A team actually tweeted for somebody to send help.

That situation appears to be repeating itself.

If you’re a minor league hitter, especially at Single-A, you’re not going to stand much of a chance against a guy like deGrom.

In fact, you probably won’t stand any chance, so you might as well do what Palm Beach did and request some help on Twitter.

But all jokes aside, deGrom is dominating again.

He’s arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball and he’s making minor league hitters look foolish.

One would imagine that no minor league hitter would ever want to face deGrom under any circumstances.
