The Baltimore Orioles have gone viral for a new home run celebration that came out on Monday night against the Oakland Athletics.

Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle hit a home run in the bottom of the first inning off of J.P. Sears and then proceeded to engage in the new celebration.

Mountcastle took the "water funnel" in the dugout from Orioles personnel, mimicking what one may do with beer at a college party.

It was the third home run of the year for Mountcastle, who is one of the leaders of the Orioles powerful offense.

He now has nine RBI and a stolen base in 40 at-bats.

The 26-year-old has now played parts of four seasons in the majors with the Orioles. He debuted in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, hitting five home runs in 35 games. He followed it up with 33 homers in 2021 and 22 homers in 2022.

If the Orioles are to build off the 83-win season a year ago and make the playoffs, Mountcastle will need another big year alongside Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, Anthony Santander and others.

We spoke recently on 'The Payoff Pitch' podcast with Orioles broadcaster Kevin Brown about the O's and some of their young stars.

Mountcastle wasn't the only Orioles player to homer in the early going on Monday. Rutschman also homered off of Sears why Austin Hays homered off reliever Jeurys Familia.

The Orioles entered play at 4-5 and are currently leading the A's, 4-1, at the time of this posting.
