Watch: Diamondbacks hit home runs on back-to-back pitches

Corbin Burnes was cruising. Then two pitches changed the game.

Burnes had retired seven of the first eight batters he faced in Game 1 of the Milwaukee Brewers' wild-card series. But after a single to Geraldo Perdomo, rookie Corbin Carroll went deep on Burnes to cut the Brewers' lead to 3-2.

One pitch later, the game was tied. Ketel Marte went deep on Burnes' very next pitch to tie things up 3-3.

Marte and Carroll were Arizona's best hitters this year, combining for 49 home runs. Despite their slugging prowess, the two have hit at the top of the Diamondbacks lineup for the last two months, much to the dismay of Burnes and the Brewers.

The D-backs duo erased the lead Milwaukee took on Tyrone Taylor's second-inning home run off Brandon Pfaadt, who left a Pfaadt pitch out over the plate for the Brewers left fielder.

Burnes made it out of the third, something Pfaadt couldn't do, getting pulled with two runners on and two out in the third. He may have wished he didn't after Gabriel Moreno led off the fourth with another dinger.

Arizona leads 4-3, and it's looking likely that the rest of Game 1 comes down to the bullpens.
