Atlanta Braves outfielder Forrest Wall has spent over eight different seasons in the minor leagues with four different organizations before finally getting his first career start tonight in Washington, spanning 3,543 minor league plate appearances.

The 27 year-old made it count.

Wall hit his first major league homer tonight off of Washington Nationals reliever Jose Ferrer in the top of the 6th inning, extending Atlanta's lead to three runs at 6-3.

Thankfully, the homer went into the bullpen, allowing for team personnel to easily retrieve the heirloom for Wall.

The homer is Atlanta's 299th of the season, bringing them eight homers away from the MLB record of 307, hit by the Minnesota Twins in the 2019 "juiced ball" season. It's also a single-season franchise and NL record for team homers.

How to Watch the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals on Sunday, September 24th

Tonight's first pitch is slated for 6:35 PM ET from Nationals Park in Washington, DC. The game broadcast will be available on Bally Sports Southeast locally and MLB.tv outside of Braves Country. The radio call is available in the Atlanta metro area on 680 The Fan, across the Southeast on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network, and nationally on MLB.TV.
