Watch: Grandson of Red Sox legend homers at Fenway Park

Hall of Fame outfielder Carl "Yaz" Yastrzemski hit 237 of his 452 career home runs at Fenway Park during his legendary career with the Boston Red Sox.

On Thursday, Yaz's grandson, San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski, went yard for the 91st time in his career. It was the 33-year-old's second time homering in Beantown, with the first instance coming in his Fenway Park debut as a rookie on Sept. 17, 2019.

San Francisco's midweek series against Boston is only Mike's third time playing against his grandfather's old team and the first time since the Red Sox visited the Giants last July.

Carl, an 18-time All-Star, seven-time Gold Glove Award winner, and the 1967 AL MVP and Triple Crown winner, visited his grandson before the game in the clubhouse. He was also at his grandson's first contest at Fenway Park nearly five years ago.

The Giants and Red Sox aren't scheduled to play again in 2024.

In the unlikely event that Boston and San Francisco square off in the World Series, Mike and the rest of his family will want the 84-year-old patriarch to be present.
