Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani put his team in a huge hole with a brutal performance in the first inning Sunday against the Oakland Athletics. Then Mike Trout gave the Angels a huge boost not long afterward with an absolutely smashed three-run home run.

Check out the swing on this pitch from Mike Fiers, who absolutely did not want to locate the ball where he did.

That ball got out in a hurry.

It was Trout’s first home run of the 2020 MLB season, but it certainly won’t be his last. The slugger is one of the most consistent performers the league has and continues to prove he’s the best there is in baseball.
