The Chicago White Sox announced a minor trade Tuesday as they sent pitcher Bailey Horn to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations. Horn was designated for assignment on April 26 in a series of roster moves to make room for offensive reinforcements.

Horn has endured a winding minor-league journey since being drafted by the White Sox in 2020. The South Siders sent him to the Chicago Cubs in a 2021 trade before reacquiring him during Spring Training ahead of the 2024 season.

Across parts of four minor-league seasons, Horn owns a 4.60 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 184 innings spanning 108 appearances. The southpaw struggled to begin the 2024 season as he posted an 11.32 ERA in 10.1 innings for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.

Tuesday's trade is just the latest installment of the White Sox and Red Sox swapping pitching prospects. Chicago previously selected hurlers Shane Drohan and Jose Ramirez from Boston during MLB's 2023 Rule 5 Draft. Now, the Red Sox have recouped a left-hander from the White Sox in exchange for cash.
