It seems things are just going from bad to worse for the New York Yankees. After being dealt a huge blow with the news regarding their “ ace” pitcher Gerrit Cole facing some discomfort, they are now facing challenges regarding Aaron Judge .

The Yankees captain just like Gerrit Cole, is suffering from some discomfort. While the fans were left devasted to hear about the pitcher’s situation, they are now stunned in silence to find out about Aaron Judge. This has now raised questions regarding whether the slugger will be part of the Opening Day roster after this.

The 2022 American League MVP would undergo MRI on Monday for discomfort in his abdominal region. With this issue, he has been struggling to swing in Spring training.

Manager Aaron Boone though is confident he will make a speedy recovery and labeled his struggled as “mid-spring beat up“. He also informed that he plans to use Judge against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. This could suggest that the team are expecting him to be part of the Yankees Opening Day roster on March 28.

Aaron Judge opens up about his chances of making the Opening Day roster

With around two weeks remaining for the Opening Day 2024, the last thing a team wants to do is to lose some of their star players. While the future regarding Gerrit Cole remains uncertain, there are some chances that Aaron Judge might not be out for long. He has now opened about his chances of making the Opening Day roster.

When asked about whether he was confident to make the roster for Opening Day, the Yankees captain claimed he does not want to speculate things. Judge further expressed that the important thing right now for him is to take some time.

I'm pretty sure. I don't want to speculate or talk about anything that hasn't come yet. The most important thing is taking some time now and be back out there soon. Aaron Judge on his injury as per MLB insider Bryan Hoch.

Judge’s absence is something that the Yankees and their fans do not want to experience once again this season. Coming after a historic 2022 campaign, Judge suffered two injuries with one being a toe injury that kept him out for several weeks.

In this period, the offense of the team struggled massively. His injuries turned out to one of the major reason for the Yanks to finish with a poor record and miss the playoffs. The 27-time World Series winners cannot afford to go through this again and will be keeping their fingers crossed for Judge’s health in the upcoming campaign.
