The New York Yankees could have one of their rising young stars back in the lineup sooner than expected.

New York got some bad news in 2023 as young outfielder Jasson Domínguez suffered an elbow injury shortly after making the jump to the big leagues. The 21-year-old shined in their first eight games in the big leagues but injured his elbow and had to undergo Tommy John surgery.

He's going to miss a chunk of the 2024 campaign but it seems like his recovery is going well and the young slugger even will begin hitting from the right side of the plate next week, according to the New York Post's Greg Joyce.

"Jasson Domínguez is scheduled to start swinging (from the right side) on Monday, per Aaron Boone," Joyce said. "Will add the left side a few weeks later."

The fact that Domínguez will be able to start swinging soon is a great sign for the club. It's unclear exactly when he will be back, but he has shown great progress already in his recovery.

New York has significantly improved its outfield this offseason by landing Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, and Trent Grisham so luckily Domínguez won't have to rush back. But, when he can return to the field he will be an upgrade for the club.

The Yankees are loaded with talent and seem to be going all in on the 2024 campaign because Soto could end up leaving in free agency. Domínguez's eventual return to the club only will help.
