The New York Yankees already are in a better spot but should get even better when the summer rolls around.

Yankees elite prospect Jasson Domínguez made his big league debut last season and certainly was impressive. He shined in his short stint with the club but suffered an elbow injury and had to undergo Tommy John surgery.

Although he will miss a significant chunk of the 2024 season, Yankees manager Aaron Boone gave a very positive update on him, according to SNY's John Healy.

"Domínguez is still recovering from undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow last September and will likely not be ready until later in the season, but manager Aaron Boone certainly sounds optimistic about the progress he is making," Healy said.

“He’s doing really well,” Boone told The Michael Kay Show on Thursday, as transcribed by Healy. "'(He’s in) great shape. He turned a whopping 21 years old (Wednesday). It’s so good to see him. …He’s working hard. Again, he’ll be back in the summer for us. I’m confident in that.' Boone also added that Dominguez will begin throwing in about 10 days to two weeks."

If Domínguez can return to the field sooner rather than later, he certainly will help the Yankees out. New York has improved this offseason but bringing someone like Domínguez back into the fold will only help more.

The Yankees have had a great offseason with acquisitions but it would be even better if Domínguez can return ahead of schedule.
