The New York Yankees have already made one huge move to start their offseason, but it seems highly unlikely that they are finished.

Yankees star Aaron Judge hinted at more moves to come even after the team’s addition of Juan Soto while appearing on Fox 5 in New York. Judge said he was pleased with the Soto trade, but suggested that the team was “looking forward to making a couple more” big moves in the days to come.

Judge may or may not have inside information, but it’s certainly plausible that he is alluding to the Yankees’ well-documented pursuit of Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The Yankees are still in on Yamamoto even after trading for Soto, even though the pitcher is likely to cost upwards of $200 million on the open market. They are facing very stiff competition for him as well.

Judge is the Yankee captain, so he may well know something. Regardless of what else the Yankees have up their sleeve, however, the slugging outfielder has an adjustment ahead of him for 2024.
