Drew Gulak says the backstage incident that Ronda Rousey recently shared was an unfortunate accident, and nothing more.

On Tuesday night, Ronda Rousey appeared on NewsNation. There, she accused Gulak of inappropriate work conduct backstage during her time with WWE. Rousey was asked if she ever experienced any misconduct with Vince McMahon during her time in WWE. She said not with McMahon, but then said Gulak grabbed the drawstring on her sweatpants as he was walking by.

“Yeah, I went and confronted him later. And I was like, if I ever hear about you putting your hands on any other woman like this or doing anything like this to me ever again,” Rousey explained, “we’re gonna have a problem.

“And [Gulak] was like, ‘No, no, I’m glad that you said something to me. He just really backpedaled and everything like that,” she added. “But it just put a really sour taste in my mouth about the culture there and what’s considered acceptable and how to touch and treat the women in the hallways and anywhere but backstage, especially.”

Now, Drew Gulak has commented on the accusation. He issued the following statement on Twitter, claiming it was accidental and he was trying to shake her hand. Furthermore, Gulak said he had already apologized for the incident.

“Backstage at a WWE event in 2022, I saw Ronda talking with a group in the hallway,” Drew Gulak wrote on Twitter. “I stopped to say hi and shake all their hands, and in an attempt to shake her hand, I accidentally touched her drawstring. Complete accident, and one that I had apologized to her for the mishap.”
