Two pure finishers will collide at the
Ultimate Fighting Championship’s upcoming trip to Boston.

Per Andre Petroski’s (9-1) Instagram page on Friday, he has announced he will be competing in New England this August. At UFC 292 inside of the TD Garden in Boston, the “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 29 competitor will be squaring off with Gerald Meerschaert (35-16). The two will be toeing the line at middleweight on Aug. 19, and they combine for 41 finishes in their 44 pro victories.

On the 29th season of TUF, Petroski reached the semifinals only to fall short to eventual victor Bryan Battle. Since then, the New Jersey native has rattled off four straight wins in the UFC, including three inside the distance. Most recently, Petroski topped Wellington Turman on the scorecards, ending his stretch of three straight stoppages. Before the Turman fight, Petroski had dispatched fellow TUF 29 castmate Micheal Gillmore, Yaozong Hu and Nick Maximov in the span of less than nine months.

Meerschaert has struggled as of late, dropping two of his last three since 2022. His submission of Bruno Silva is bookended by a decision defeat to Krzysztof Jotko and an April knockout loss to Joseph Pyfer. As a UFC fighter, “GM3” has procured all 10 of his victories by finish, putting away the likes of the aforementioned Silva, Trevin Giles, Makhmud Muradov and Deron Winn. It has not been all positive for the Kill Cliff FC export, who has suffered five stoppage losses along the way against foes like Thiago Santos and Jack Hermansson.

UFC 292 will take place at the TD Garden in Boston on Aug. 19, with a pair of championships bolstering the pay-per-view lineup. The main attraction comes at bantamweight, when Aljamain Sterling defends his throne against the surging Sean O'Malley. The co-headliner sees Weili Zhang attempt to make the first defense of her reclaimed strawweight title against Amanda Lemos. The only other match on the books thus far is a bantamweight banger pitting Cody Garbrandt against Mario Bautista.
